By rolling up team and individual efforts to high level business goals we're driving engagement

Step 1. Enter your Goals

What are the goals or desired outcomes for this quarter?

When you first log in, you'll be asked to enter in upto 5 Goals for the current quarter. Keep goals qualitative, high level. Your Goals should encourage creative problem solving & motivate your team.

BTW yes, Goals can be shared to future quarters.

Step 2. Create Measures for Goals

How do you measure your progress towards your qualitative goal?

Here, we'll name the metric then enter a start & goal value - as we move through the quarter we'll update the current value which will reflect in the pie chart.

As we progress through the quarter we may change the status of our metrics using a simple traffic light system - green is good, orange means things are not to plan & red means something is wrong, we need to course correct.

BTW yes, Measures can be shared across more than one goal.

Step 3. Create Initiatives

Initiatives are activities carried out by one or more people across one or more teams. This is the "execution" we're performing to drive our metris hence an Initiative is assigned to a metric.

Initiatives move between different status - to do, in progress & done.

Users can update progress, status and leave a comment describing the latest update/highlights for this Initiative.

Categories

Categories are optional but super useful in a few scenarios

Different goals related to different teams - in this case creating a category for each team is a good idea - you can assign the relevant goals to the relevant categories to create seperation.

Multiple areas of focus - for example if you're looking at revenue growth & customer satisfaction as the key areas of focus for your company, teams or team - creating a category for each and assigning goals below them would work well
